Use Your Words

Our submitter received this friend request from someone on PSHome, apparently so out of breath and out of time that the words just tumbled out all at once. Slow down! Take it easy.

    BYE UGLY BLOCK GROSS DUDEBRO

  7. Rob McColl says:

This is clearly deconstructionist in nature.

D’aww the person who writes Viagra/acai berry juice/whatever spam email is looking for love.

  9. Dudebro?  Using gendered insults is soooooo 200L8.  Also chances are pretty good that this person was messaging from a non-english speaking country where they don’t have “Dudebros”

    • Raichu says:

Are you one of those people who starts talking about reverse sexism on forums like this? “Dudebro” isn’t just an insult; it has a definite connotation of creepiness. When a male sends me a creepy, inappropriate sexual message I reserve the right to call him out on it in a way that takes into account the fact that he’s male – after all we hardly ever see women doing this.

I’ve never known it to have a connotation of creepiness.  I’ve always known it to have connotations of competitive obnoxious dickheads who play CoD in the downtime between getting wasted and laid– who like to refer to the company of their own as “dude” or “bro” way more often than regular people are comfortable with.

I agree that ALMARCHEJA4 is probably from a non-english speaking country and wouldn’t really fit the “dudebro” archetype.

Still, what’s the point of coming here to nitpick about the use of “dudebro” in a joke response to the offender?

  10. BL(Æ) says:

Nope, pretty sure my beauty webcam chat isn’t horny. Thanks for the concern though.

  11. Raichu says:

Ok, so we have different interpretations and experiences.

    *shrug*

      Yup. Pretty much. Heh.

I never really notice women using “dudebro”.  To me, it usually seems to be guys taking impotent swipes at people they see as either;the representation the cool kids they were shunned by in school,
the invaders into the gaming culture by non-gamers,
or something else along those lines.
I wonder if I’m walking around within my own bubble– lets see what the folks at urbandictionary think:

It kind of seems like he’s asking his webcam if it wants to chat and is horny. Why he felt the need to send someone else the message asking for this information is beyond me.

  13. DeathbyDD says:

Dudebro sounds like a pokemon that should evolve into Bigbro or something (with the use of a Moon Stone, obviously) ^_^

  14. Martyn says:

omg i do love the creepy messages you get as they are made by the part of gaming society i refuse to accept XD

I have checked a few post on this website and im very surprised. I have never thougt that being a gril playing video games could be so hard.

You girls are not that much on xbox live or multiplayer games and i begin to understand for what reason… This is very sad.

By the way, your website is a good idea, show to the world how dumb some players are, so we could laught and don’t play with them. Maybe this will make them change in the future.

Forgive my spelling skills, im not english.

HI UTO I was surprised too about how much hate gamer girls get.
good thing this website opened my eyes.

Recently I had a weird happening on my Vita. A dude messaged me if I was a boy or a girl and how old I was. I told him I was male but no age. It increasingly got strange and demanding I look at his penis. And his hopes I’m young and impressionable. I’ve since stopped connecting on PSN short of going to the store.

    • Anonymous says:

Over the Vita? What game were you playing?

Also, can’t you just block him? It’s sad to think one person will ruin your whole online experience.

Further also, I hope you reported him. He’ll probably keep trying, and he may reach a kid eventually.

I did block the dude. I mean it wasn’t just the one guy, that was only a PSN incident that turned me off it. The prior PSN incident was when my wife was playing Dungeon Defenders and a dude was bugging her to be his girlfriend. He shut up when he heard me on mic. The worst abuse was on Xbox live when my wife and I shared an account. I was either a faggot or she was a fat cunt. Didn’t matter what game we played.

Now I primarily play on PC and mute almost everyone. I know I suck at stuff. My wife retreated back to single player stuff. Which is sad because I liked playing things with her online. I mean jerks are all around but I found PC to be more diverse and not all shitty. Even then I’m even standoffish in online play. I want to but I need to find good people.

        • Anonymous says:

That’s unfortunate. I’ve had very little problems with strangers when I play online, though I have a tendency to go online when I can play with my friends. And when I’m playing with my friends, I’m in a party chat with just them, so I’m insulated from much of it.

        • DeathbyDD says:

Thats terrible! I just get used to reporting ppl (cuz you never know who they may target next…its your DUTY! XD) and then blocking ’em (cuz its your RIGHT!) ^_^

          • Anonymous says:

I reported the loon without a second thought. Hopefully he’s banned, the way the dude was talking he was trolling for kids. I never stand for pederasts.

          • DeathbyDD says:

Yup Yup! See, I find people attractive based on their personality, not age. But kids aren’t physically able or mentally mature enough to appreciate that sort of thing so..YEAH! Phantom Peanut, you did the right thing! ^_^

Sometimes I think “Is there no decency left on the internet?” then I realize that many of the people playing these games, leaving these messages or interacting in general with these unfortunate people are in the bracket of 8 – 30 which since society itself is on a decline the will children suffer. Also because they hang around in the online server with people who’ve been doing this sort of thing it is imprinted on them like a virus making more viruses. Frankly I think it is disturbing that people cannot swallow the basic impulses that a competitive spirit can bring out. Mixed in I might add with many adolescent hormones. I really believe in the work you guys do and wish you the best. You girls are a valuable part of the gaming community. Nobody deserves this kind of ignorance.

  18. Aria Rae says:

Wow. I’ve never felt this intense combination of creepy and hilarious before.

  19. alex Mattos says:

Dont you guys have something on pc? I play mostly pc and I dont see many creeps guys like these you show from the xbox. Maybe I am playing the right games!?

  20. Semper_5 says:

I’m a guy and I get this when I try and play games online. I imagine the reason for the prevalence of this is that the creepy guys on there pretending to be women comply with such awful calls for attention, and thus it normalizes it as an interaction. You’re braver then me going in there.
